Valorie’s BIO
Hi! I’m Valorie Clifton, and I’m a beaded jewelry designer and teacher. I’ve been involved in fiber crafts and beadwork from my childhood, ever since I first picked up a crochet hook at the age of 7. Since then I’ve plunged into crochet, knitting, quilting, sewing, embroidery, fabric painting, sculpture, painting, digital artwork, photography, sketching and all things jewelry. I’m the proud wife of 24+ years to my high school sweetheart and the extremely proud mother of two wonderful kids, ages 18 and 20.
I specialize in designs using Super Duo and Czech beads but I also love metalsmithing, chainmaille, wire working and bead embroidery. I design and publish beadweaving tutorials for sale in my “VCArtisanOriginals” online shops on Etsy and my own website, VCArtisanOriginals.com. I’ve been a teacher since January 2010. I’ve had the privilege of teaching in an art gallery, in private groups and a local bead store. My work has been displayed and sold in a juried art gallery, where I am proud to call my fellow artists friends. I’m very proud to be a former member of 2013’s selected Bead Mavens, a group of dedicated beadweaving teachers and mentors who offer free tutorials and help the beading community. Since 2015, I’ve been a very proud member of the Back2Bead.com Glam Squad, a small group of designers who showcase their latest beads.
I’m a freelance copyeditor, and I’m beyond thrilled that dozens of novels feature my name on the title/copyright page as the editor.
