Toni’s BIO

Thanks for visiting! I’m a self-taught jewelry designer, freelance writer and mixed media instructor. I’m passionate about all things creative and my work strongly emphasizes the non-traditional use of polymer clay as an art medium. My love for jewels and baubles dates back to childhood when I began making my own bracelets. Store bought jewelry and its design was lacking, I thought, in individuality and personal style. So any piece of jewelry that came along was destined to be disassembled and rebuilt. An eye for design and a self-taught career was born!

With a degree in sociology, I’ve always been fascinated with other people and cultures, and especially, how they adorn themselves. I believe jewelry is the ultimate form of self-expression. Growing up in an artistic family, I would dress and adorn myself as an individual, emphasizing my own personal style. What was trending just never suited me.

…Published author of numerous jewelry kits and tutorials.

Bead-It-Today contributor.

…Prolific designer for twelve years. Not enough hours in the day or time in my life to wear and design all I dream of!

…Designs are often freeform or minimalistic, emphasizing the simplest of shapes, with a contemporary edge.

…Functional and wearable jewelry reflecting my own personal style.

From the Artist

I grew up in a talented family of musicians where I was encouraged to explore all creative outlets, whether it was interior design, music, dance or sketching jewelry. Surely I was born wearing a stack of bracelets! Creative expression filled my life while growing up. My gift for playing piano surfaced early and our home was filled with music and musical instruments. Didn’t everyone live that way, I thought?

Many thanks to my loving and talented musician father who showed me how to live creatively. Rock on, Daddy! And to my husband who says jewelry-making is my very nature. Thanks, honey! And to my singer-dancer son and dancer-choreographer daughter-in-law who are the lights of my life. Their creativity continues to inspire!
