Pharmacy was actually my original trade. I really didn’t enjoy it much but it paid the bills. I always was interested in crafty things, though. A few years ago I had to stop working due to pain and fatigue from fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. On a whim, I took a couple of wire wrapping classes at the local craft store and was immediately hooked. I bought every book I could find and found making something with my hands so rewarding. People started saying I should sell my items so I opened an Etsy store.
Then metalworking sparked my interest. I took some classes from a local jeweler and my husband set up a wonderful studio for me in the house. I go crazy buying tools, beautiful gems, beads and metals!
I enjoy working with wire, beads, gemstones, sea glass, metals….just about anything that makes beautiful jewelry! I often stay up way too late working on a project or sketching ideas. It never gets old to hear my phone go “cha-ching” –meaning someone has purchased one of my pieces or to see something get “favorited”.
